Amy is a studio potter specialising in wheel-thrown and altered ceramics based near Newcastle upon Tyne. She makes pieces which are both functional and beautiful and values craftsmanship, sustainability and heritage.

She gave us clear instructions in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere which I think gave us the confidence to produce some pieces which were, I think, not at all bad for beginners. She had some of her own ceramics for sale - decent prices, and beautifully produced.

  • This was a great way to spend 3 hours. Amy was really welcoming and very patient. Her demonstrations were really clear and put us all at ease. She guided us individually throughout the process and I managed to create 3 pots! The time just flew by - I couldn't believe it when the time was up. I have just collected my glazed pots and they look amazing. Highly recommended if you want to have a try at throwing.
